What to Wear (or not) / What to BringWondering what to wear on a kayak tour?
The first thing to know is that you will, in all likelihood, get wet, so plan accordingly. You may want to bring along a dry change of clothing for after your excursion. Body: Most people prefer to wear a bathing suit or quick-dry shorts and a t-shirt. If it's chilly out, we'll lend you a paddling jacket. Best not to wear cotton , as it doesn't dry out very quickly. Feet: Wear sandals, water shoes or sneakers - as long as you don't mind them getting wet. We don't suggest paddling barefoot. Head: Bring a hat and sun glasses, and be sure to bring a strap for your glasses - especially if they're expensive! Sundries: Bring along some sunscreen and a water bottle, and maybe a snack such as an energy bar or nuts. You may also want to bring along a warm fleece jacket or shirt if it's cool out (to wear after your paddle) and a dry bag if you have one. If you forget anything - not to worry - we carry everything you'll need! What not to wear: Stay away from jeans, leather shoes or a cotton sweatshirt - if these get wet and cold, you'll be one unhappy (and uncomfortable) paddler. |
